The event raised $11,080 for the Burrillville Animal Shelter.
Memorial
The three Burrillville fire districts will be hosting a September 11th memorial ceremony on Wednesday at Firefighters’ Memorial Park.
Participants are asked to assemble at the park for 8:30 a.m. with a moment of silence to be held promptly at 8:46 a.m. Brief remarks and a prayer will immediately follow. All are welcome to attend the ceremony and emergency personnel in attendance are encouraged to wear their class A uniforms.
Harvest festival
The Burrillville Fall Harvest Festival will take place along Harrisville Main Street and East Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 15 from 10 am to 5 p.m. Previously known as the Burrillville Arts & Crafts Festival, the event includes a unique laser light show, more than 150 vendors, food trucks, live entertainment and more. Free BBQ
Brigido’s Fresh Market at 54 Sayles Ave. in Pascoag will hold a Customer Appreciation BBQ on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate one year under ownership of the Fernandez family. The event will feature food and activities, a live DJ, raffle prizes, and more. It was rescheduled from the original date of Saturday, Sept. 7.
Chowder & Clam Cakes
The Oakland Mapleville Fire Department will hold a Clam Cake & Chowder dinner on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Nasonville Fire Station at 2577 Victory Highway. The event will be held in place of the department’s annual muster, which had to be cancelled this year. Raffle tickets for the chance to win $1,000 in prizes will also be sold at the event, with the drawing to take place after the dinner. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

Proceeds from the dinner and raffle are used to purchase things needed for the fire company as well as donations to other community organizations throughout the year.
