Sunday cartoon: Avoid electric shock

BURRILLVILLE – The Fearless Dino Protector Squad wants to remind kids to avoid electric shock in the home.

There are many homes with Halloween lights, decorations and displays on their front yards this time of year, and this could become a hazard for little kids. Kids watch and emulate what their older siblings and adults do in and around their apartment and home every single day. Playing with wall plugs and outlets can cause serious injuries and burns. Playing with electrical cords, lights, decorations and displays can be very dangerous when it comes to little kids. Hiding these electrical outlets and wall plugs with tables and furniture could help prevent any interest from a child, and placing electrical outlets and wall plugs covers over any units that are not used for electrical purposes is also a very good idea. Make sure not to overload any electrical outlets and wall plugs with too many plugs and extension cords for your Halloween lights, decorations and displays. Any exterior extension cords should be water tight and manufactured for outdoor usages. Never run an extension cord from your apartment or house that is not weather and rain resistant.

Color in this Sunday coloring cartoon with your kids and talk with them about electric shock prevention to help keep them safer.
