NORTH SMITHFIELD – In her campaign for the role of North Smithfield town administrator, Beth Newberry said that the most immediate problem in town is the need to stitch the various factions together into a more unified, or at least respectful and cooperative, whole.
“It has been years since we made a real attempt to bring people to work toward a common vision rather than various special interests going off doing their own thing, paying little attention to the broader good,” Newberry said.
“My years of experience running both non-profit organizations and a for profit business, having to manage other people coupled with my deep personal connections to all groups of residents, young and old, school parents and retirees, those who seek business expansion and a growing tax base, those who care deeply about preserving our rural small town feel, Republicans, Democrats and independents, elected and aspiring officials from different factions, makes me an ideal candidate to bring people together,” Newberry said. “We can do better than we have been.”
“I respectfully ask for your vote on November 5.”
I fully endorsed Beth Newberry for Town Administror. I have known Beth for over 23 years where she has taken on various nonprofit board and leadership roles, including President of the Junior League of Rhode Island. She is a very successful businesswoman and has a no-nonsense, collaborative and creative mindset. She is open to hear other’s perspectives and willing to roll up her sleeves to get the job done.
Beth has the skills to get this job done and lead our town. Her real life application skills in working with a variety of different people and stakeholders to drive her success is remarkable. Being TA isn’t a project, or a project plan or a study of a grant. She will make a fine town administrator for years to come!!

Beth truly is a connector. I can’t wait to see what she will continue to bring to the community.
