NORTH SMITHFIELD – With the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 5 just days away, new North Smithfield Town Council candidate, Rebecca DeCristofaro, acknowledged that most candidates have highlighted their professional skill, stating, “Professional experience is a good indication of our skill sets, credentials, and capabilities when running for public office.”
DeCristofaro has been a strategic program /project manager for the last decade and said that her diverse experience has formed her critical thinking, process methodologies and ability to influence progress. In addition to professional experience, she said she also feels that character is equally as important when running for public office.
“At 26 years old, I bought a small horse farm in town with my twin sister,” DeCristofaro said. “This purchase was unchartered territory for us, but we were energized by the challenge and determined to see it through no matter the amount of effort or sacrifice it took to succeed.”
“In my years on the farm, I’ve learned how to establish goals and pursue a vision,” she said. “I’ve also had to be patient and flexible; problem solve and pivot, persevere through hard work and challenges, identify and mitigate risks, and to rely on a combination of experience, logic and compassion to make hard decisions.”
Today, DeCristofaro says that her farm is a testament to her hard work, dedication, integrity and passion. It demonstrates that she’s never been one to shy away from a challenge, that she understands the importance of teamwork, and of having a vision and goals. I
“You can trust that this is who I am and that I will bring that same heart, coupled with my professional experience and intrinsic grit to the Town Council,” DeCristofaro said.
I have spoken with Rebecca on a few different occasions. Each time I spoke with her I got a vibe that she is all about herself and not the residents of the town. This article also shows that she is all about herself. In doing my research on this candidate online and in speaking with other residents, I have learned that the main and only reason she is running is to shut down the quarry at the end of Pine Hill. This is not a reason to run for TC. I will not be casting my vote for this candidate.
