BURRILLVILLE – Town Councilor Justin Batalon discussed his work to improve the town of Burrillville this week, noting he hopes to continue to serve the community in a seat on the Town Council.
“I have had the honor and privilege to serve on the Burrillville Town Council for the past four years,” noted Batalon. “In that time I have increased my knowledge of how things work and sometimes don’t on both the local and state governmental levels.”
“In addition to my primary roll as a Councilor, I have served on the Councils’ Screening committee and appointed caring, knowledgeable, and passionate people to help serve on various boards to help steer our great community towards an even better future,” Batalon said.
Batalon also serves on the Harrisville Fire District Operating Committee, where he has been helping to create a new water district to more effectively serve the customers of Harrisville and Pascoag.
“I have always held the viewpoint of trying to do what is best for the taxpayer dollar and what would best benefit the more than 16,000 residents of our town,” said Batalon. “One of the things I find myself wrestling with most often is: How can we expand the tax base and provide relief to home owners while still maintaining our rural roots? I have strived to do just this.”
Batalon said he intends to continue to act in the service of his friends and neighbors.
“I hope to be able to continue to serve you in the town that I love and call home,” said Batalon. “I am humbly asking for support and vote during this election.”
The ballot is set to include just three candidates for the three open seats on the board.
