
Voting
Election Day is here and the Town Clerk’s Office will be open for voting purposes only on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and will reopen on Wednesday, Nov. 6 for regular business at 8 a.m. Town Hall will be closed for all business other than elections. The transfer station will also be closed on Tuesday and will reopen Wednesday morning.
The town’s five polling locations will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters unsure about their polling location can find it here, along with sample ballots.

Hazard Mitigation
The town of Glocester is currently updating the 2018 Hazard Mitigation Plan. Town officials note that the plan is important because it helps the town to receive funding for projects that reduce the risk of injury or damage to property from future natural hazard events such as flooding and hurricanes.
The Town of Glocester Emergency Management Agency has shared a 2024 draft plan for public review and comment through Saturday, Nov. 30. You can view the draft plan here or pick up a copy at one of the Glocester Public Libraries.

The Boys in the Boat
Glocester Manton Library at 1137 Putnam Pike will host a movie matinee on Tuesday, Nov. 5, with The Boys in the Boat showing at 2 p.m. The library will show the free new release on the big screen and offer light refreshments. No registration is required.
Honoring veterans
The Chepachet Grange and Knights of Columbus will host a program honoring veterans on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at 28 Chopmist Hill Road. The event will feature a speaker, raffles and a light lunch will be provided. Veterans and their spouses are invited to attend and must RSVP to (401) 568-4219 by Friday, Nov. 8.
Town meetings
The Glocester Board of Canvassers will hold meetings on Wednesday, Nov. 6 and Thursday, Nov. 7 starting at 10 a.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agendas are here and here.
The Glocester Town Council will not hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7. The council is scheduled to resume their regular meeting schedule with a gathering on Thursday, Nov. 21.
