The Pascoag Fire District held their annual banquet over the weekend presenting awards including the 2023 Jack Almeida EMT of the Year to firefighter/EMT Ashley Boucher.

Veteran’s Day

The Burrillville Allied Veterans Council American Legions Post 88 and 17, and VFW Post 1023 will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11 starting at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park by The Bridgeway in Pascoag. The public is invited to take part in the ceremony, to take place rain or shine.

Town Hall is closed on Monday and trash collection will be also be delayed this week.

The Wonder of Christmas

St. Theresa Shrine at 35 Dion Drive will host the Wonder of Christmas Bazaar & Craft Fair on Friday, Nov. 15 from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will feature a massive collection of sweets and treats, holiday decor, cozy handknits and more. Enjoy holiday tunes with singer Missy Ducharme on Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and a Wine & Cheese Party on Saturday from 4 to 5:50 p.m. Bingo will take place both days from 3 to 5 p.m. and the kitchen will be serving up breakfast sandwiches, fish & chips and more.

Wreath, boxwood workshops

Mapleville Farm at 544 Victory Highway will hold wreath workshops on Nov. 16, 17, 23 and 24 and boxwood workshops on Nov. 17 and 23. Participants are invited to visit the greenhouse, decorated for the holidays and join the resident florist in creating a gorgeous wreath to adorn their front door throughout the season. In the workshop, participants will use a wire frame and learn to build wreaths from the ground up using a mix of fresh greenery. Decorations will be provided to personalize the wreaths.

Materials and tools will be provided and light refreshments will be served. Spots are limited and must be reserved in advance at http://www.maplevillefarm.com.

Memorial

Spritzer’s Bar at 63 Grove St. in Pascoag will hold a memorial to John Larson on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. with beer and dynamite to raise funds for the Burrillville High School Football Program. Tickets cost $25 and donations will also be accepted.

Comedy fundraiser

Protect Burrillville’s Health & Environment, the organization working to stop installation of the turf field at Burrillville High School, will host a comedy fundraiser with Funny 4 Funds at Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club at 200 Brook Road on Saturday, Nov. 16 with doors at 6 p.m. and the show to start at 7 p.m. The 18 plus event will include a cash bar, raffles and auctions in addition to the show.
