Playoff win
Congratulations to the Burrillville High School football team on a playoff win over the weekend against Central High School. The 20-14 victory marked the Broncos fourth consecutive win and has earned them a spot in the Division I championship consolation bowl, to be played on Saturday, Nov. 23 in North Kingstown starting at 3 p.m.
Road update
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reopened Route 102 today, Monday, Nov. 18. The road has been closed for bridge replacement since June and RIDOT reportedly paved the final riding surface and installed rumble strip, temporary striping, and guardrails this week.
RIDOT has also deactivate the temporary traffic signal related to the project at East Avenue/ Harrisville Main Street. The department noted that minor construction activity will continue over the next few weeks and drivers can expect traffic shifts during working hours.
Community walk
Jenza’s Garden will hold a Community Labyrinth Walk on Thursday, Nov. 21 starting at 5 p.m. at 470 South Main St. in Pascoag. The event will include a short guided meditation at the beginning to help set intentions followed by the walk.
Participants are advised to bring flashlights for the walk to and from car and dress warmly, with blankets encouraged. The event is free and donations are welcome.
Sample sale
Alashan Cashmere at 866 Broncos Highway will hold their annual sample sale on Friday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The year end sale will feature men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and throws.
Shopping event
Visit Liberty Farm at 60 Ironmine Road on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the first date in the farm’s fourth annual holiday shopping event. Browse unique handmade gifts, purchase holiday treats and items from food trucks, and interact with the farm animals. The event has free parking and admission, but tickets are required for certain activities, including meeting with Santa and horse-drawn wagon rides.
