Congratulation to the Burrillville High School Broncos football program for securing runner up status in Division I. The team ended the season with a 31-7 loss to North Kingstown on Saturday.

Santa calling

Parents must register by Tuesday, Nov. 26 for the Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department’s Santa calling program, where town children in grades 2 and under receive a phone call from the Saint Nick himself. Those who sign up will receive a call from Santa between Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Dec. 8.

Gobble gobble

The Thanksgiving holiday is Thursday, Nov. 28 and many local businesses will be closed, with no trash collection on Thursday and pickup delayed one day for the remainder of the week. Happy Thanksgiving Burrillville!

BPD Christmas program

The Burrillville Police Department has begun work on their annual Adopt-a-Family Christmas program, with plans to provide a complete holiday for 13 Burrillville families with a total of 27 kids this year. Help from the community is always welcome and needed in the form of donations, gifts and wrapping.

Alumni game

An alumni game for the Burrillville High School hockey program will be held on Friday, Nov. 29 at Levy Rink at the school at 425 East Ave. With 52 players signed up, three games are planned between 8 a.m. and noon.

Those who did not play hockey are invited to watch the games and alumni still hoping to sign up should email [email protected].

Victorian Holiday & Parade

The Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association will hold its annual Victorian Holiday event on Saturday, Nov. 30 on The Bridgeway in Pascoag from 4 to 7 p.m. The event includes the chance to shop with local vendors and meet with Santa with holiday music, trolly rides, food trucks, and a fire truck and jeep light parade.

BeeGees tribute dinner

Bella Restaurant at 1992 Victory Highway will host ‘Tales From the Brothers Gibb’ BeeGees dinner tribute show on Saturday, Nov. 30, with doors at 6 p.m. and dinner starting at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $60 and include family style dinner, show, tax and gratuity. Town meetings

The Burrillville School Committee will meet for a special session on Tuesday, Nov. 26 starting at 4 p.m. in the administration building at 2300 Broncos Highway. The agenda is here.

The East Burrillville Fire District will hold a monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 26 starting at 7 p.m. at the Oakland-Mapleville Fire Station at 46 Oakland School St. The agenda is here.
