BURRILLVILLE – The new year is almost upon us and it’s very important that kids and families are aware of seasonal hazards in the home, especially during the winter season.

The Seasons of Safety coloring campaign for 2025 kicks-off this week, reminding kids to stay away from fires, lighters and matches. This Sunday cartoon is a great way for parents and guardians to sit down and talk to children about fire safety and burn prevention in and around apartments, houses, garages and sheds. The winter season is the busiest season of the year for firefighters responding to accidental fires and unintentional burns here in Rhode Island, New England and nationwide. Kitchen and cooking fires are the leading cause responsible for firefighters being dispatched to city, town and community fires during the winter months. Please keep kids away from fire places, lighters and matches. Hide lighters and matches in drawers or put them out-of-reach of little hands.

The Fearless Dino Protector Squad firefighting dinosaurs with fire apparatus tails and great big smiles want kids and families to be fire safe and prevent burns all year long.
