Water tank update – noisy work
The Water Department provided an update regarding progress on town water tanks, noting some noisy work is expected take place this week.
Tank 1’s foundation is being removed the week of January 13 with a project that may start early in the morning. Trucks are expected to be busy on and around Comstock Road, transporting dated material to a recycling center. The department noted that a building near the site is also being demolished and is not part of the water tank project.
Tank 2 has reportedly been refilled following the recent rehabilitation, the water has passed all state required testing. The tank went back online on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
And a water connection had to be constructed at the former location of a demolished tank on Country Way, causing disruption to the recently planted grass. The department noted that will be repaired in the spring, and that the town aims to have a neighborhood sitting area created in the space completed for spring of 2025.
