Grease

A G-rated version of the Grease will be performed in the auditorium of Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road on several dates in January. Catch the show on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 and 7 p.m.; or Sunday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and can be purchased here.

Fundraiser

Hills Tavern & Grill will host a fundraiser for Kristen Raposa on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 1 to 6 p.m. with dinner, raffles and live music. Raposa, who has worked at Tavern on Main for decades, was injured in a fall in November and has been unable to work. Tickets for the event cost $15 and donations will also be collected at the door.

Creative Room closes

The owners of The Creative Room at 6 Money Hill Road announced that after five year in business, they have closed their doors. The property that housed the business, a self-serve craft bar for various arts projects, has been sold.

“It was not an easy decision to make, but it is one we made with careful consideration,” noted a social media post on the closing. “I know this is the best next step for our family and I’m looking forward to seeing what the new building owners have in store for this tiny corner of Chepachet.”

“I wouldn’t change a moment of this story, not even a minute,” it noted. “Life is a blank canvas, what will you create?”
