MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Thrive Support & Advocacy, a nonprofit empowering youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Central Massachusetts, recently announced six appointments including a North Smithfield woman who will serve as the new director of family support.

Claire Jean-Michel will take on the role overseeing programs that provide direct assistance, resources and guidance to families, according to a release from the organization.

“I am certain our dedicated staff members will continue to excel in their new senior roles and look forward to welcoming new members equipped with the expertise needed to provide the individuals we serve with the tools to thrive,” said Thrive President & CEO Sean Rose.  “We are thrilled that our agency’s continued growth puts us in a position to make these key appointments.”

Previously, Jean-Michel served as program manager of Community Care Alliance. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in marketing from ENST and received an MBA from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico.

Founded in 1973, Thrive Support & Advocacy aims to empower youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead active and self-directed lives. The Marlborough-based nonprofit supports more than 1,200 individuals and families living in the Worcester County and Middlesex West regions of Massachusetts, providing recreational and social initiatives for youth and adults, community residences, and individual and family supports.
