Little League

Registration is now open for the Glocester Little League’s 2025 season, open to players who will be age 4-16 as of August 31. Families must register at www.GlocesterLL.com prior to the deadline of Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Love rocks

Burrillville Rocks and ReMax Host of Homes will team up on Saturday, Feb. 1 for a free event making a Valentine’s Day Craft from 2 to 4 p.m. at 712 Putnam Pike Unit 8 in Glocester. All ages are welcome to drop in for an afternoon of Valentine card making and rock painting, with extras to be donated to Overlook Nursing Home.

Deadline

The Glocester Business Association is warning businesses that the deadline to be listed in the 2025 brochure is fast approaching. Businesses can join the association or renew membership for the 2025 year can fill out the online application here.

Taxes

Town of Glocester’s 2024 third quarter tax payment is due on Monday, Feb. 3. Interest and penalties will be applied on Monday, March 3 on unpaid quarter bills at the rate of 8 percent per annum retroactive to August 1, 2024. The remaining quarters will be due and payable as stated on the tax bill.

Real Estate tax bills were mailed on July 12, 2024, and anyone who has not received a bill, is asked to call (401) 568-6206 ext. 4. Failure to receive a tax bill will not excuse non payment or any related interest/penalty. Residents can pay their bill at Town Hall Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; with Visa or Mastercard at www.RIeGovernment.com or on the town website at www.glocesterri.gov/departments.htm#collector.

Facelift

The Glocester Animal Shelter office is getting a fresh coat of paint thanks to a donation from Chepachet Hardware. The Glocester Police Department thanked the business at 916 Putnam Pike for the generosity.

“Acts of kindness like this make such a big difference and remind us how much good there is in our community,” noted GPD. “We are so grateful for their support and commitment to helping the shelter create a better environment for the animals and the people who care for them.”

Town meetings

The Glocester Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Land Trust will not be holding their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
