NORTH SMITHFIELD – Police have arrested a Cumberland man accused of breaking in and stealing items from a town restaurant in October.

Troy Stone, 39, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 20, and charged with breaking and entering, and larceny of more than $1,500, according to a release this week from NSPD Capt. Ellen Lamoreaux.

According to police, the arrest stems from a break in overnight at Lindy’s Tavern on School Street on Wednesday, Oct. 2, where several items were stolen from the business.

NSPD detectives reportedly investigated the incident in collaboration with the Cumberland Police Department to identify Stone as the suspect.

Stone was arraigned and held on $5,000 surety bail, and has an upcoming court date on Thursday, May 8.
