Senior Line Dancing

The Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department will start a new Senior Line Dancing program this week, with free beginner lessons for seniors to be held every Monday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 50 Lodge Road starting on Monday, March 3.

Logo deadline

The deadline is approaching for the Burrillville 250 Commission’s logo contest, with a chance to have your design featured on promotional materials for events to take place through 2026. Submissions must be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off to the Burrillville Police Department at 1477 Victory Highway by Wednesday, March 12.

At the Library

Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane has a few special events this week, including a program where teens in grades 6 through 12 are invited to learn how to write in cursive on Tuesday, March 4 from 3 to 4 p.m.

VolunTEENs takes place on Wednesday, March 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the community room, where participants will finish preparations for a food drive for donations to the food pantry.

On Thursday, March 6, adults are invited to stop by the Reference Desk to learn how Ancestry.com works. No registration required for the help between 6 and 7 p.m.

At the Loft

New classes and workshops continue this week at The Loft at Solitude, with yoga sessions on Wednesday, March 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. and Friday, March 7 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. On Tuesday, March 4, the venue will host a Heart Chakra Workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and on Sunday, March 9, a sound meditation class begins at 10 a.m.

Scavenger Hunt

The Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department’s annual Easter Scavenger Hunt is now underway, with participants challenged to find Easter bunnies at parks and fields throughout town. Children who complete the contest and return a form by the March 31 deadline will be entered into a prize raffle.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, March 3 starting at 7 p.m. at Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.

The East Burrillville Fire District will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 4 starting at 7 p.m. at the Harrisville Fire District office at 115 Central St. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Budget Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, March 6 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
