Deli Grand Reopening

Cow’s Tail Deli at 16 High St. in Pascoag is holding a Grand Opening under new ownership on Monday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The business was recently sold to Arminda Costa and Otaniel Mendes by founding owners Mike and Christy Karmozyn after a more than two month closure. Stop in today to welcome the new owners to town.

Logo deadline

The deadline in a contest to design a logo to be used by the Burrillville 250 Commission is coming up this week. Submissions should be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off at the Burrillville Police Department at 1477 Victory Highway marked to Lisa Rabideau’s attention. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, March 12 at noon.

Spring Showcase

Burrillville Middle School at 2220 Bronco Highway will hold its annual Spring Showcase on Thursday, March 13, starting with a parent meeting in the auditorium of the school at 5 p.m. The public is invited to take a tour of the school anytime between 5:30 and 8 p.m. to view student achievements and learn more about classes.

Lottery win

The Rhode Island Lottery has announced that a Mapleville man has claimed the final $35,000 Second Chance Prize for the Patriots Instant Ticket. According to a release on the win from lottery officials, the ticket holder said he’s a big Patriots fan and that it was his first time winning a prize that large. He said he will use the money to pay bills. 

Irish pre-game

St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, March 17 but many celebrations will begin this weekend, including a two day party at Dev’s Tavern at 341 Chapel St. The fun begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 16 with corn beef and cabbage, and raffles. DJ Robert Robitaille will play music from noon to 4 with live music by Zero Gravity Duo from 6 to 9 p.m. On Monday, 3 Can Jam will play from 6-9 p.m.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Monday March 10 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.

The Board of Canvassers will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 11 starting at 10 a.m. at the Town Building at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 11 in the media center of Burrillville High School at 425 East Ave. starting with executive session at 5:30 p.m. followed by a regular meeting at 6 p.m. The agendas are here and here.

The Burrillville Sewer Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 11 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Burrillville Wastewater Treatment Facility at 141 Clear River Drive. The agenda is here.
