Police identify man found unresponsive on Burrillville hiking trail

BURRILLVILLE – Burrillville Police Chief Col. Stephen Lynch released the name of the hiker found unresponsive on Friday, March 7 on the Nipmuc Trail in Burrillville.

Edward Clish, 62, from Uxbridge, Mass. was found beneath a tree branch around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, according to reports.  The victim’s family went looking for him after he didn’t return home amid high winds that blanketed the region throughout the day. 

According to Lynch, the Burrillville Police Department and the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office are now conducting a coordinated investigation into Clish’s death.
