Athletes entering grades 1 through 8 will play one game each week Mondays through Wednesdays from June 23 to July 31. Forest Bathing
Haven Box and Forest Bathing RI will offer a free forest bathing experience on Saturday, May 10 from 1 to 3 p.m., at Fort Wildlife Refuge at 1445 Providence Pike, open to all survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Forest bathing comes from the Japanese phrase, Shinrin-yoku which means, “bathing or taking in the forest atmosphere,” and is considered an important health and wellness practice in Japan and other countries. Forest bathing walks are slow, mostly silent, and focused on using your senses.
Registration is required for the event here. Participants are advised to dress for the weather and bring what they normally would on a hike, such as water, sunhat, etc. The trails are flat but can have roots, rocks and sometimes mud, so wearing sturdy shoes/sneakers are advised.
