Mommies Night Out

Glad Tidings Community Church’s GTeens and Impact Youth teens will hold Mommies Night Out on Thursday, May 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. Parents are invited to drop off the kids at the church at 111 Victory Highway for a fun night of snacks, games, crafts and more. The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional sibling, with proceeds to support a youth trip to the National Fine Arts Festival in Orlando, Fl. in August.

Music Bingo

The Ponaganset High School Class of 2027 will host Music Bingo Night on Friday, May 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the upper cafeteria at the school at 137 Anan Wade Road. Help support class activities with a fun night with a chance to win prizes. Admission costs $10 per person and snacks and refreshments will be available.

Plant sale

The Ponaganset Future Farmer’s of America will hold their annual plant sale on Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. at Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road. A variety of hanging baskets, bedding flowers, herbs and vegetables will be available for sale in the AG building behind the high school, with proceeds to benefit the FFA Chapter.

The sale will continue next week on Saturday, May 17.

Authors’ visit

David Schoorens will be among authors from the Association of Rhode Island Authors to visit the Job Armstrong Store at 1181 Main St. on Saturday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The visit is part of the Glocester Heritage Society’s ongoing Chepachet Author Series.

Shred event

The Chepachet branch of Navigant Credit Union at 1042 Putnam Pike will hold a shred event on Saturday, May 10 from noon to 3 p.m. The bank notes that shredding any documents with important information is a way to avoid identity theft.

Town meetings

The Glocester Planning Board will hold a meeting on Tuesday, May 6 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Economic Development Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 7 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester School Committee is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday, May 8 starting at 6 p.m. in the library of Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road. The agenda will be posted in the Secretary of State’s website 48 hours in advance. The meeting will be followed by a meeting of the Regional School Committee starting at 7 p.m.

The Glocester Conservation Commission will hold a meeting on Thursday, May 8 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
