NORTH SMITHFIELD – A two car collision on Victory Highway Wednesday afternoon damaged both vehicles and slowed late day traffic but the drivers escaped with just minor injuries.
The cars were traveling in opposite directions on the busy highway around 3:30 p.m. in the area by University Orthodontics.
North Smithfield Fire & Rescue Deputy Chief Thomas Dybala said one vehicle was heavily damaged in the crash while the second had moderate damage. Both drivers had minor injuries and refused hospital transport.
Traffic was backed up along the road as rescue personnel cleared debris from the scene, which Dybala said was cleared within 30 minutes.

Maybe people should start slowing down. The speed limit on that road is 35 mph and if I do the speed limit I am being pushed down the road with IMPATIENT right on my bumper!
