
Summer Concert
The Glocester Recreation Department’s summer concert series continues this week, with Roots Run Wild on Wednesday, July 23. The free shows take place every Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Kent Field Pavilion. Visitors are invited to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the outdoor events.

Fundraiser
A #TeamKim fundraiser at Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike on Saturday, July 26 starting at 2 p.m. will help Kim Rappa Leonard in her battle against ALS. The event will include live entertainment, a spaghetti dinner, raffles, and cornhole and volleyball tournaments. Tickets cause $25 and $15 additional for tournament players and can be purchased here.
All funds raised will go directly to helping with Leonard’s care.
Entertainment
Also at Hill’s on Saturday, Tom’s Garage will play starting at 8 p.m.
At Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike, The Dave Howard Band will play on Saturday, July 26 starting at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, July 27, the weekly Roadhouse Blues start at 3 p.m.
Mr. Z’s By The Lake at 2400 Putnam Pike will also have a show this week, with Sean Ryan performing on Thursday, July 24 starting at 6 p.m.
Girls’ Troop
A new scouting troop in town serving girls while working alongside Troop 44 Glocester is set to launch in the coming year and organizers are now reaching out to interested families. Glocester’s first girls BSA troop will have the same adventures, campouts and scouting opportunities as the boys troop. Pantry needs
Grace’s Food Pantry at Glad Tidings Community Church is in urgent need of donations to help support local families in need. The pantry is seeking donations of peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix, granola bars, syrup, canned fruit, oatmeal, soup and ramen.
Drop offs can be made at the church at 111 Victory Highway in the grey bin outside any day of the week or to Haircraft Studios at 15 Money Hill Road Tuesday-Thursday.

Town meetings
The Glocester School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, July 22 in the library of Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road, with open session set to start at 6 p.m. The agenda is here.
The Glocester Land Trust will not be holding their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, July 22.
The Historic District Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 23 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
