
Informational meeting
The Economic Development Commission will host an informational meeting in collaboration with Rhode Island Commerce on Wednesday, Sept. 3 for all local business owners. The meeting will take place in room 9 of Glocester Town Hall at () starting at 7 p.m.

Bingo
The Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will host fall-themed Bingo on Friday, Sept. 5, with doors to open at 5 p.m. and games to start at 6 p.m. There will be food available and a ten pack of six cards on sale for $6.
Cornhole
Oakleaf Family Campground will hold its fourth annual cornhole tournament, held in conjunction with Brian’s Burrillville Motors to raise funds for scholarships for students at Ponaganset and Tollgate High Schools on Saturday, Sept. 6, with registration to start at 10 a.m. at the campground at 43 Oak Leaf Way. The event will include a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and prizes for the top teams.
The event is open to the public and the cost to register is $60 per team by calling (401) 568-4446 or registering here.
Walk in registrations will also be accepted.
Grand opening
A new store selling tea, herbs, altar treasures, and spiritual services will open this weekend at 1160 Putnam Pike. The Witch’s Pantry will hold a grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 6 with hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Chicken BBQ
The Chepachet Fire Department will host its annual chicken BBQ on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the station at 1170 Putnam Pike. Tickets cost $20 for adults or $10 for children under age 10, and include half a chicken, a baked potato, corn on the con and a cookie. Tickets can be purchased at the station Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk ins will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Ranch sorting
Sweet Pig Farm at 121 Tarkiln Road will host ranch sorting practice on Saturday, Sept. 6 starting at 4 p.m. All experience levels are welcome to the event and $40 per person gets three practice runs.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase and the farm has a large indoor where sorting will take place, as well as a large outdoor for warm up and ample trailer parking. For more information or to reserve your spot call (508) 967-5366.

The Glocester School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 2 starting at 6 p.m. in the library of Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road. The agenda is here. The event will be followed by a meeting of the Foster-Glocester Regional School Committee at 7 p.m. for an agenda found here.
