NORTH SMITHFIELD – A Pawtucket man with a criminal record under two different names was arrested in August and is now facing charges related to a break in and theft at a North Smithfield consignment shop.
Antron Dublin, 45, of Pawtucket, also known as Antron Russell, has been charged with breaking and entering a place of business, larceny of more than $1,500 and vandalism related to the incident.
According to reports, police responded to 706 St. Paul St. around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2 for an audio alarm at Lulu’s Krazy Daisy. Blackstone police were already on scene surrounding the business, which had the front door kicked open leaving visible footprints.
The owner of the store later told officers that multiple purses had been taken from a display case located next to the store’s register.

Police reviewed surveillance footage of the building, which reportedly showed a tall man exiting a white Hyundai parked in the nearby alleyway between Powell Motors and Phantom Motor Works. The suspect kicks down the door of the business and then leaves with items in his hands, placing the goods in the trunk of the nearby vehicle. He then moved the vehicle to another area of the parking lot and took off a hooded sweatshirt, mask, and gloves he’d been wearing, according to police. Donning a new outfit, the suspect reportedly exited the rear of the parking lot.
Officers did stop a man on Great Road running from the direction of the break in, but the man said he was out for a run and that he lived nearby. That man, who gave the name Antron Russell, was allowed to leave the scene.
CCTV footage watched after the incident showed a man with the same description getting dropped back off in the parking lot by another vehicle and changing the license plate on the Hyundai before leaving the scene.
“A cross agency check of Antron Russell revealed that name to be an alias for Antron Dublin,” notes the NSPD report.
It’s a trick Dublin – or Russell – has apparently been using for years. The state criminal database lists both names with a birthdate of September 5, 1980.
Russell’s long criminal record includes a high profile case from 2015 in which three suspects beat, pistol-whipped and robbed a man in Cranston. “Dublin” has also been charged in crimes, including assault and several traffic violations.
In the recent incident, he made off with four Louis Vuitton bags with a total value of $3,250, and one leather backpack valued at $500, according to the business owner.
It is under the name Russell that he was arrested by Pawtucket police on Friday, August 22 and charged with driving with a suspended license. He was transported to NSPD on a warrant and released on a $5,000 surety bond in 3rd District Court on Monday, August 25.
Russell is due back in court on Monday, Nov. 24.
