Family Resource Night
The Northwest Special Education Region SELAC Committee will hold a Special Education Family Resource Night in room 248 of Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road on Thursday, Sept. 18. Parents and caregivers will have the chance to meet service providers who can help with supporting their child’s future, learn about resources and tools, and hear from other families who have navigated the process.
The event is open to families of children with IEPs and 504s who attend the Glocester, Foster, Scituate or Foster/Glocester Regional School Districts. Refreshments will be provided.
Kickathon
Village Martial Arts at 840 Putnam Pike will hold a charity kickathon on Friday, Sept. 19 starting at 7 p.m. to benefit Chepachet Cub Scout Pack 1. Students, instructors and Cub Scouts will participate, and the public is invited to attend to cheer on the kids or sponsor the kickers.

Yard sale & vendor fair
The Glocester Heritage Society will hold its annual yard sale and vendor fair on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1043 Putnam Pike. Shop for antiques, jewelry, soaps candles and more to benefit the group.

Tate’s Jam
The Glocester Police Department has announced a new fundraiser to support their K9 program: Tate’s Jam. Three flavors of jam are now on sale at a cost of $10 per jar with all proceeds to go directly to support K9 Tate.
Jars are available Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Glocester Police Department at 162 Chopmist Hill Road, or you can email [email protected] to arrange a pickup.
Scarecrow registration
The Glocester Scarecrow Festival Committee has announced that registration is now open for participants in this year’s event, to be held Saturday, Oct. 18. Residents, businesses and organizations that hope to create a scarecrow for this year’s event can register and find more information here.

The Glocester Planning Board workshop originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 16 has been cancelled.
