
Tax sale
The town of North Smithfield will hold a tax sale on Thursday, Sept. 25 starting at 10 a.m. The sale will be held in the Town Council chambers of Town Hall at 83 Green St. Liens will be placed on properties with past due to taxes for sale to the highest bidder.

Fun Run
The North Smithfield Parent Teacher Organization will host a Fun Run at North Smithfield Elementary School on Friday, Sept. 26 to raise funds to support the school things such as supplies, field trips, social service support and more. With 50 percent of students registered, the school has raised $20,000 and has a goal of beating last year’s total of $27,000. It is the final week to register here.
Walking tour
The North Smithfield Heritage Association will host a walking tour of the historic village of Slatersville on Saturday, Sept. 27 with the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park. Participants are advised to bring water and wear walking shoes, with the tour to depart at 11 a.m. from Heritage Hall at 101 Green St. The easy walk will cover Slatersville’s 19th-century history with guidance from National Park Service rangers and Director Christian DeRezendes.
Attendees should use the large parking lot next to North Smithfield Town Hall at 83 Greene St.
Sanctuary Sounds
Slatersville Congregational Church at 25 Green St. will host an all ages sober safe concert on Saturday, Sept. 27 with singer/songwriter Stefan Couture. Entry costs $10 for the live show, which starts at 7 p.m. Snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
Artisan Fair
The Beef Barn Restaurant at 200 Industrial Drive will hold its annual Fall Artisan Fair on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests are invited to shop for handmade goods and try out delicious food with dozens of vendors on the restaurant’s scenic grounds.
The rain date for the event is Sunday, Sept. 28.

Live music
Seasonal entertainment in the Plastic Palace at Lindy’s Tavern at 98 School St. continues this week, with Don Colt on Friday, Sept. 26 starting at 7 p.m. and Supermags on Saturday, Sept. 27 starting at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 28, it’s Gary Gramolini starting at 3 p.m.
The Island at 1600 Victory Highway will close out its 2025 concert season this week with The Northeast Groove on Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. and Brady Wells Acoustic on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. Christopher Principe will finish the season on Sunday with a performance from 3 to 6 p.m.
NSHS records
North Smithfield High School is in the process of clearing students’ cumulative record files for the Class of 2018. Anyone who graduated as a member of the Class of 2018 and would like to obtain their folder may pick it up at the high school main office prior to Friday, Oct. 17. After that date, these records will be destroyed.

Town meetings
The North Smithfield Charter Review Committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 24 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 83 Green St. The agenda is here.
