Dine at Texas Roadhouse at 39 Dowling Village Blvd. in North Smithfield today, Tuesday, Oct. 21 to help support the Ponaganset Men’s Soccer Team. Print or show the flyer below when you visit from 3 to 10 p.m. and the restaurant will donate 10 percent of your total purchase to the team.

Ground breaking
Officials with the Foster-Glocester Regional School District will unveil plans for the “Ponaganset Greenovation Lab on Wednesday, Oct. 22 starting at 1 p.m. at the high school at 137 Anan Wade Road. The public is invited to attend a ground-breaking ceremony and those who hope to attend are asked to RSVP by Tuesday, Oct. 21 here or by calling (401) 710-7568.

Trick or Treat Main Street
The Glocester Business Association’s annual Trick or Treat Main Street event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25 along Main Street in Chepachet Village. The organization is now accepting registration from businesses and organizations that hope to participate in the event, and help to stock the shelves of the Foster and Glocester food pantries while handing out candy to young ghouls and goblins. All local businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate, and they do not need to have a store front on Main Street.
Families who would like to attend the event just need to show up to the village on the day of the event in costume and bring a donation for the pantries.

Scouting for Food
Boy Scout Troop 44 Glocester will be dropping off door hangers on Saturday, Oct. 25 for the Scouting for Food Campaign, with information on how to donate and help to feed locals in need. The Scouts will return to collect food donations on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Troop will also have a drive through collection point at Chepachet Union Church at 1138 Putnam Pike Nov. 1 beginning at 9 a.m.
Scarecrow winners
The Glocester Scarecrow Festival Committee has announced the top three winners in the Personal/Family Category from this year’s event as follows: 1st place – Anne Lombardi, 2nd Place – Brittany Palladini, 3rd Place – Jill Lapierre and People’s Choice – Matthew Sciotti.

Veteran luncheon
The Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will host an event for veterans on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m., with a program and luncheon. Veterans are encouraged to bring photos, stories, and other memorabilia from their period of service.
Those who hope to attend must RSVP to (401) 678-6581 by Monday, Nov. 3.
