
Veterans Day
Tuesday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day and events across the region will commemorate the occasion, including the town’s annual event at the Glocester Senior Center starting at 11 a.m.
Don’t forget to take a moment today to show gratitude for all those who have served.
Life support training
The Harmony Fire District will host Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support CPR training, open to the public, on Saturday, Nov. 15 starting at 9 a.m. BLS is incorporated in the ACLS protocols and will run to noon, with those in need of ACLS to be there from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants are asked come prepared with a pen or pencil, and paper to take notes.
It will be $15 per basic card and $30 per ACLS and registration is required here.

A customer appreciation event that began last week will continue this Thursday, Nov. 13 with free pictures with Santa for dogs visiting Trish Hampton at 1182 Putnam Pike. Santa Thom will be in store from 6 to 8 p.m. and visitors are invited to stop by with their pup and camera to get a holiday card photo.

Dental care kits
Glocester Manton Library at 1137 Putnam Pike and Harmony Library at 195 Putnam Pike have free dental care kits available for visitors of all ages while supplies last. Stop by the library to pick up a kit with toothpaste, a toothbrush, floss and an educational activity.
Holiday of Lights
Harmony Railway has announced that tickets for their Holiday Lights events are now on sale. Visitors are invited to enjoy a scenic train ride under a glittering array of lights. Tickets cost $10 and are available here.
The attraction will also offer visits with Santa followed by train rides on dates throughout the holiday season.

Town meetings
The Glocester Budget Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 12 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
The Glocester Conservation Commission is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 13 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is expected to be posted 48 hours in advance on the Secretary of State’s website.
