Thanksgiving

Glocester Town Hall will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Ponaganset High School Football Parents Association is encouraging locals to cheer on the Chieftains at their annual Thanksgiving Day rivalry game. The team will play the Burrillville High School Broncos in a 10:30 a.m. match at Burrillville High School at 425 East Ave.

Pet pics with Santa

Health Minded by Mind Your Dog at 6b Money Hill Road will offer pet photos with Santa on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pictures will be taken by Beth Galligan Photography at a cost of $30 for two digital photos. Pet parents should call or text (401) 394-0053 to reserve a spot.

Christmas Bazaar

Saint Eugene Church at 1251 Putnam Pike will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parish hall. The bazaar will feature raffles, crafts and jewelry, baked goods, a penny social and more.

Glad Tidings Community Church held a Friendsgiving dinner last week.

Memorial Toy & Food Drive

Pinewood Pub & Pizza at 16 Terry Lane will host the second annual Gene Harrison Memorial Food & Toy Drive on Sunday, Nov. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m., with raffle items including a fall-themed hand-crocheted throw. The event will include a light buffet and entertainment by Just Cuz. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item and an unwrapped gift.

Proceeds will be used for gift cards for families in need of a warm holiday dinner in Foster, Glocester, Johnston and Scituate, and personal care packages for boys and girls age 13 and older.

Live music

Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike will have Nolan Leite and Steve Malec on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, Nov. 26 for a show starting at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 29, the tavern will host its annual release party with Call of the Wild Photography for its Vintage Motorcycle Pinup Calendar, starting at 2 p.m. and music by Dirt starting at 8 p.m.

Hill’s Tavern & Grill at 417 Putnam Pike will host The Quadfathers for Thanksgiving Eve starting at 7:30 p.m.

Town meetings

The Glocester Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
