School’s out
Holiday recess at Burrillville Public Schools began today, on Monday, Dec. 22 with students on break until Monday, Jan. 5.
Art Box Studio. Jesse Smith Library and Pascoag Public Library will all offer some activities while students are on break.
Holiday hours
The Burrillville town building will close early on Wednesday, Dec. 24 with hours from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Town Hall will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 26 in celebration of the Christmas holiday.
There will also be no trash or recycling pickup on Wednesday, with collection delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. The Whipple Avenue compost and recycling facility will be open on both Wednesday and Saturday, Dec. 27.
Basketball fundraiser
The Taco Shop at 459 Chapel St. will be open for business on Monday, Dec. 22, and holding a fundraiser to benefit the Burrillville High School boys basketball team from 3 to 8 p.m. Guests are invited to buy tickets to win a raffle basket and 10 percent of sales will benefit the team.
Christmas services
Our Lady of Good Help at 1063 Victory Highway and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 45 Harrisville Main St. will both hold services at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24. On Christmas Day, St. Theresa Church at 35 Dion Drive will hold a service at 8 a.m., St. Patrick Church at 9:15 p.m.; and Our Lady of Good Help at 10:30 a.m.
Hometown gig
Local artist Maddie Skeldon will perform at Crystal Lake Tavern at 100 Bronco Highway on Saturday, Dec. 27 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Town meetings
The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Monday, Dec. 22 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.
