Naughty Bingo

Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike will host Not Your Grandma’s Bingo on Thursday, Jan. 8, an 18 plus co-ed event with Athena’s products. $20 per person includes five sets of bingo with hundreds of dollars in prizes available.

Registration for the event begins at 5:30 p.m. with games to start at 6:30 p.m.

Regular Bingo

The Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will offer Bingo on Friday, Jan. 9 with food available, and a 10 pack of six cards on sale for $10. Doors are at 5 p.m. with games to start at 6 p.m. The event was postponed from its previous date of Friday, Jan. 2.

2025 stats

The Chepachet Fire District published a graph detailing the department’s activities from 2025, noting volunteers responded to 1,180 incidents over the year, including 56 fire calls. The district also responded to 828 EMS calls and completed hundreds of hours of training and education.

Honor patrols

The Glocester Police Department has announced that the department’s MADD RI DUI Honor Patrols this year were done in recognition of Eliza DeAngelis, who was seriously injured as a result of impaired driving in 2021.

“Driving under the influence has lasting and devastating consequences that affect victims, families, friends, and entire communities,” GPD noted. “Through these patrols, our officers are working to prevent further tragedies by identifying and removing impaired drivers from our roadways.”

“The Glocester Police Department remains committed to honoring Eliza DeAngelis and all victims of impaired driving by proactively protecting the safety of our residents and visitors.”

Wild Game Dinner

The Ponaganset High School Football Parent Association will host its third annual Wild Game Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 25 at Santa Maria Di Prata Society at 29 Walnut Grove Ave. in Cranston starting at noon. Tickets cost $50 each for the five course meal, and businesses are invited to sponsor a table for the cost of $100.

RSVP is required by Sunday, Jan. 11 with payment via check or Venmo to @ponaganset-football-boosters. Questions can be directed to [email protected].

Town meetings

The Glocester Charter Review Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 6 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Planning Board meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6 has been cancelled.

The Glocester Budget Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 7 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Economic Development Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 7 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Conservation Commission will not hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, Jan. 8.

The Glocester School Committee is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 8 starting at 5:30 p.m. according to a listing on the town website. The agenda is expected to be published 48 hours in advance on the Secretary of State’s website.

The Harmony Fire District Executive Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 8 starting at 7 p.m. at the station at 194 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
