Protest
Resident Bob Lyons will hold a peaceful protest of President Donald Trump’s handling of America on Tuesday, Jan. 20 in Chepachet starting across the street from Glocester Town Hall at 2 p.m. Lyons has invited like-minded folks to join him.

Fundraiser
Visit Texas Roadhouse at 39 Dowling Village Blvd. in North Smithfield on Thursday, Jan. 22 for a fundraiser to support Ponaganset Middle School from 3 to 10 p.m. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of your total food purchase to the school with presentation of the flyer below.

At the Libraries
Glocester Manton Library at 1136 Putnam Pike will host a movie matinee on Tuesday, Jan. 20 starting at 2 p.m., with a playing of “Watching The Roses.”
At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the library will host its book club with pizza.
Live entertainment
Hill’s Tavern & Grill at 417 Putnam Pike will host The Underground starting at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 and Dirty Old Men on Sunday, Jan. 25 starting at 2 p.m.
Cady’s Tavern at 2168 Putnam Pike will host Sean Ryan starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23 and Papa Joe’s acoustic on Saturday, Jan. 24 starting at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the tavern’s weekly Roadhouse Blues starts at 3 p.m.

Meat raffle
The Glocester Lions Club will host a meat raffle on Sunday, Jan. 25 at Pinewood Pub & Pizza at 16 Cherry Lane. Tickets for the raffle will cost $30 for 26 chances or $60 for three sheets and come with a free buffet. Doors to the event open at noon with raffles to start at 1 p.m.

Town meetings
The Chepachet Fire District Executive Board will hold a monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20 starting at 6 p.m. at 1170 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
The Foster-Glocester School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the superintendent’s office at 91 Anan Wade Road. The agenda is here.
The Glocester Budget Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 21 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
The Glocester Zoning Board meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22 has been cancelled.
