
Trout
The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management has announce that they will stock trout from Tuesday, Jan. 27, to Thursday, Jan. 29 in Round Top Ponds and Peck Pond.
Regular stocking updates will be available on DEM’s Division of Fish & Wildlife’s (DFW) Facebook Page and www.dem.ri.gov/troutwaters.
A 2025 RI Freshwater Fishing License is required for anglers age 15 plus and valid through Feb. 26, 2026. To keep trout, a 2025 RI Trout Conservation Stamp is required, unless fishing in a lake or pond bordering Rhode Island. The Trout Stamp expires March 1, 2026. Licenses and stamps are available through DEM’s Rhode Island Outdoors portal.

Klondike Derby
The Narragansett Council of Scouting America will host the Klondike Derby on Saturday, Jan. 31 starting at 9 a.m. at Camp Buck Hill at 464 Wakefield Road in Pascoag, a weekend-long race inspired by the Klondike Gold Rush, where teams of Scouts navigate a rugged course filled with themed “Towns,” each packed with challenges that demand teamwork, leadership and Scouting spirit. The event is open to all Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scout Ships, Arrow of Light and Explorer Posts, with check-in at 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Hamilton Lodge. Closing Ceremony and Awards will take place from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

Open skate
Burrillville Junior Hockey League will host an Open Skate on Saturday, Jan. 31 from noon to 2 p.m. Admission is $7 at the door with free skate rentals available.

Lainey Dionne
Singer/songwriter Lainey Dionne will perform at the Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. on Saturday, Jan. 31 starting at 8 p.m. Dionne has more than 50 nominations and awards for her songwriting including Songwriter of the Year at the New England Music Awards.
Tickets cost $10 online or $15 at the door and can be purchased here.
Valentines Dinner/Dance
Tickets are now on sale for Burrillville Lions Club and the Pascoag Council of the Knights of Columbus 9th annual Valentines Dinner Dance on Sunday, Feb. 8 from noon to 5 p.m. at Bella Restaurant at 1992 Victory Highway. Enjoy a meal, raffles and live entertainment by The Bel Aires with all proceeds to benefit local charities.
