BURRILLVILLE – Burrillville police have released the identity of a man who died last month during a fire that engulfed a trailer on Welles Road.
Firefighters were reportedly dispatched to the structure around 4 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, with the East Burrillville Fire Department in charge at the scene. The blaze was extinguished, but a body was found in a bedroom of the home at 13 Welles Road.
“The State Fire Marshals also responded to conduct their investigation relative to the fire’s cause and origin which left this residence a total loss,” noted a release from the Burrillville Police Department on Monday, Feb. 2.
Col. Stephen Lynch told NRI NOW on Monday that the state fire marshal’s office has not yet determined the cause of the blaze.
The body recovered from in the trailer was identified as the only resident of the address—Daniel Collard, age 60. Police said the cause of Collard’s death is “still pending” at this time.
