Game night

The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will host a game night on Friday, Feb. 6, with electronic and board games for kids in grades 6-12 with One Up Games. The event will be held from 5 to 7:45 p.m. at the Wallace F. Lees Public Safety Complex at 1477 Victory Highway and will include pizza, lemonade and more.

Candlelight Vigil

The Burrillville Democrats will hold a Candlelight Vigil on Friday, Feb. 6 starting at 6 p.m. in front of the Harrisville gazebo in memory of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, protesters killed in conflicts with ICE agents in Minneapolis. The public is invited to join in a peaceful gathering of quiet reflection and remembrance.

Bingo night

DPNA will host Bingo Night on Saturday, Feb. 7 in the hall of St. Joseph’s Church at 183 Sayles Ave. from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event will also include quarter auctions, vendors and raffles.

Lightning Lockdown

The Burrillville Lightning Wrestling Club will hold the “Lightning Lockdown” on Sunday, Feb. 8, a youth wrestling tournament with athletes competing at Burrillville High School at 425 East Ave. from roughly 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cost to compete is $35 per wrestler and the entry fee for spectators is $5. Registration and more information can be found here.

Dinner dance

We mentioned it last week so you could get your tickets early, but the Burrillville Lions Club and the Pascoag Council of the Knights of Columbus 9th annual Valentines Dinner Dance is this week – Sunday, Feb. 8 from noon to 5 p.m. at Bella Restaurant at 1992 Victory Highway. Enjoy a meal, raffles and live entertainment by The Bel Aires with all proceeds to benefit local charities.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, Feb. 2 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The agenda is here.

The Affordable Housing Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 5 starting at 2 p.m. at the town annex at 144 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
