Rescheduled flushing
The Water Department will conduct hydrant flushing from Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17 in the Slatersville, Forestdale, Great Road, Mendon Road and Industrial Park areas primarily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., although some flushings may occur overnight.
Flushing enhances water quality, but may cause some discoloration and a temporary reduction in water pressure. Customers are asked to limit water usage during flushing operations. If water is discolored, they are advised to run the cold water until it clears.
Questions can be directed to the water department at (401) 767-2200 ext 320 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The flushing was rescheduled from its previous planned time last week due to cold weather.
