
Budget revote
The Foster-Glocester Regional School Committee’s Financial Town Meeting will resume on Tuesday, April 14, starting at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Ponaganset High School at 137 Anan Wade Road. All registered voters of Foster and Glocester are eligible to cast a ballot.
Supt. Renee Palazzo has reportedly said that the budget has not changed since the meeting on Tuesday, March 24, when residents rejected the $33 million fiscal plan in a 133-103 vote.

Youth gathering
Chepachet Union Church at 1138 Putnam Pike will host a youth gathering with The Gathering Northwest on Friday, April 17 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. All youth in grades 6 through 12 are welcome to join for a night of food, games and a study of the Bible. Late arrivals are still welcome.
The Gathering Northwest is a collaborative regional youth ministry, formed by the partnership of Line Baptist Church, Chepachet Union Church, Summit Baptist Church and Rockland Community Church. Pastors and youth leaders are encouraged to reach out to us about taking part in the collaboration.

Rabies clinic
Glocester Animal Control’s annual rabies clinic will be held at the Chepachet Fire Station at 1170 Putnam Pike on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. Shots will give at a cost of $20, cash only, with the event to be held rain or shine.
All dogs brought to the clinic must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.

Earth Day
The town of Glocester’s annual Earth Day will be held rain or shine on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will meet at the Kent Field Pavilion on Main Street to pick up supplies and be assigned areas to clean up trash, with the first 50 to arrive to receive a free t-shirt.

Open house & cannon shoot
Gloucester Light Infantry Co. will host an open house and cannon shoot on Saturday, April 18, offering guests the chance to experience some of northern Rhode Island’s colonial military history. From noon to 5 p.m. at 33 Dorr Drive, the group will offer activities for children and adults including a colonial encampment, calligraphy, musket drilling and more.
At 7 p.m., join the GLI at Acotes Field at 1049 Putnam Pike as they fire their reproduction French cannons.

The Charter Review Commission’s meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 has been cancelled.
