Hydrant flushing
The Water Department will conduct hydrant flushing in the areas of Slatersville, Forestdale, Mendon Road and Industrial Park from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 31. Department officials recommend limiting water use during the operation.
Flushing enhances water quality but may cause temporary loss in pressure and discoloration. The water is not harmful but those with discoloration should run the cold water until it clears.

“These events will not be for complaining, but rather opportunities to have civil, positive conversations about how to transform our community to meet the challenges and opportunities our community is or could be facing,” noted the administrator in the town newsletter.
Those interested in participating are asked to email [email protected] with “North Smithfield’s Future Vision” in the subject line, and include their first and last name and why they are interested in the initiative.
